Our group project became a lot harder than when we started out.  We had all the right information and we had a plan on how exactly everything was going to be put together but it all changed when we found out the Mac computer wouldn’t work.  We tried for five hours to download YouTube videos to the Mac to use in our project but it just would not work.  First we tried the Mac in the bottom of the library and it would not let us download YouTube videos so we then drive a half hour to try our group member Dave Hampson’s Mac at his house. It wouldn’t work because it did not have QuickTime pro so we then drove back to campus again to try the other Mac in the bottom of the library.  After waiting for another group to finish on the Mac computer we tried to download a video from YouTube and for some reason it would not work for us either.  After all of the wasted time we decided our only other choice was to use windows movie maker.  Dave Hampson, Dave Mockus and I went to me and Dave’s room and we used my Dell laptop to put our movie together. We put a lot of work into it and it wasn’t easy.  To get the videos from YouTube we recorded them straight off the screen from my digital camera and then loaded them on to my computer and put them into our movie. Overall this was a lot more work than we expected and we wished the Mac’s would have worked so it would look more professional.

The year in review assignment was probably one of the more complex assignments for me.  The year I used for my part of the project was 1964.  The three other people in my group all had years in the 1960’s so our year in review movie consisted of major events of each of years.  Dave Mockus’ year was 1963, mine was 1964, Dave Hampson’s was 1965, and Ian Walter’s year was 1968.  We all decide on when we would meet up to gather information and how we would lay out our project.  We decided that the theme of our movie would be equality for women and minorities.  We picked out major events that happened in our year and showed pictures to represent them, talked about them to explain them, and showed video on them.  We tied together all of the relevant events of each year that related to the theme and made sure we made it clear that people would see the importance of these events of the 1960’s.  Ian is me and Dave Mockus’ neighbor so we would casually meet and discuss ideas and talk about the progress of our work on the video project. We mostly talked to Dave Hampson in class but sometimes on the cell phone to discuss our project.  We ended using Windows movie maker because the Mac computers in the library would not work and therefore we could not download videos fro YouTube to use in our video.  We all worked together to make it work out.
